Memory of a Moonbow
I saw a Moonbow once and have been quietly obsessed since.
A rainbow without colour, in the night. I’d never considered it until I saw one and had to make sense of it. So with enough moisture in the air and enough moonlight, such as a full moon, light can still be reflected in the same way it does during the day under the same conditions in sunlight. Except with moonlight, in the dark, this rainbow isn’t the colourful thing we’re familiar with but rather a desaturated version of itself, an arc of light glowing faintly in a darkening sky in various shades of grey- a moonbow
